Learning and development helps staff build the knowledge and skills needed to carry out daily responsibilities. At AC Mobility, an ongoing initiative has focused on digital communication, performance reviews and supervisory practice. Each subject relates to how colleagues coordinate work, understand expectations and contribute to service delivery.
Learning sessions have taken place in March, May, June, July and September 2026. The initiative has engaged colleagues across Finance and Administration, Operations and Communications, and Technology and Product Development, alongside team leaders and managers. Three sessions illustrate how AC Mobility has addressed needs in different roles.
Getting the Most out of Zoom
On 5 June 2026, AC Mobility held Getting the Most out of Zoom, a virtual, hands-on technical workshop for 25 participants. The workshop covered camera controls, chat, microphone controls, polls, reactions, renaming and screen sharing. The aim was to help participants use these features during remote meetings.
Following the workshop, 92% of participants reported confidence across every Zoom feature covered. Microphone control and camera management received the highest mean proficiency scores, at 4.60 and 4.56 out of 5.0 respectively. Both functions are central to speaking and appearing on screen in a remote meeting. Confidence with these tools is relevant when colleagues need to communicate across locations.
Performance Assessment Micro-learning
While the Zoom workshop focused on communication between colleagues, the Performance Assessment Micro-learning session addressed a process used across the organisation. Held on 10 July 2026 ahead of the Q2 Performance Review, the session explained how to complete and submit reviews. Seven aspects of the process were covered, including assessment of competencies, correct submission, performance targets and scoring, and written comments.
Before the session, 8 of 45 survey respondents, or 17.8%, said support was needed to complete the review. None of the 44 post-session respondents selected that answer. The responses point to a clearer understanding of the process among respondents. Giving staff common guidance on review requirements is intended to support more consistent performance reporting.
Supervisors BootCamp
Clear processes also depend on the people responsible for guiding teams. On 13 July 2026, Supervisors BootCamp engaged 14 supervisors in a session covering communication, staff motivation and workplace accountability. The content also distinguished above-the-line from below-the-line workplace behaviours, with a focus on the standards and responsibilities associated with supervision.
Following the session, the share of supervisors able to identify all three core responsibilities rose by 54.9 percentage points. The share able to define workplace accountability increased by 48.9 percentage points. These results indicate improved knowledge of the concepts covered and give supervisors a clearer basis for applying them in daily work.
Taken together, the three sessions connect staff learning to AC Mobility’s wider operations. Digital skills are intended to support communication across locations. Guidance on reviews provides a common understanding of reporting requirements, while supervisory learning clarifies expectations for accountability and team communication. The effect on coordination and service delivery will depend on how consistently this knowledge is put into practice.
Feedback has identified areas for future sessions: advanced digital tools, peer accountability pairings and scenario-based role-play workshops. By continuing to develop the people and practices behind service delivery, AC Mobility gives practical meaning to Smart transport redefined.
