AC Mobility urges Tap&Go users to register cards in three-month campaign

AC Mobility is urging Tap&Go cardholders to register their cards in their own names during a three-month campaign running from October to December 2026 at Nyabugogo, Downtown, Kimironko, Kabuga and Nyanza bus parks.

The Tap&Go ku mutima campaign aims to protect customer funds, improve the accuracy of cardholder information and ensure that customers retain access to essential services. Brand Ambassadors and Service Operations officers in Kigali are assisting customers throughout the exercise.

Helping customers protect their cards

Registration links a Tap&Go card to its verified owner, helping AC Mobility handle requests when a card is lost or needs to be blocked or swapped.

Sabrine Ikuzwe, a Tap&Go Brand Ambassador supporting the campaign, said customers should take the opportunity to register their cards and understand the benefits of doing so.

“Registering your Tap&Go card is an important step in protecting your money and making sure you can get the right support if you lose your card. We encourage every customer to take the time to register their card in their own name,” she said.

To complete registration, customers must present their existing Tap&Go card and national identity card. They do not need to purchase a new card.

Updated systems and changes to customer services

Philipe Kwibuka, Service Operations Manager at AC Mobility, said the company had updated its system for capturing and securely storing customer information, incorporating the latest enhancements to support the registration exercise.

He also warned that unregistered cardholders would lose access to certain services, including card swaps and transaction history. In the future, unregistered cards would cease to function, meaning customers could eventually be unable to use them to pay for public transport.

Complete registration before December

AC Mobility encourages all cardholders who have not yet registered to visit the registration teams during the campaign period and complete the process before the end of December 2026.

Through Tap&Go ku mutima, the company aims to strengthen customer identification and improve the reliability of services available to Tap&Go users.
