In Kigali, passengers load money onto a card and tap it on a bus validator to pay their fare.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>How much does a card cost, and where can I buy one?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A Tap&amp;Go card costs <\/span><b>RWF 1,000<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and comes with a zero balance. USSD registration also saves your card identifier for future top-ups, reducing repeated entry and the risk of paying into the wrong card.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Which part of the card number should I use?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use the <\/span><b>final eight characters after the last hyphen<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. These contain numbers and letters and uniquely identify your card.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example, on a card marked <\/span><b>111808-00913161-B7377B62<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, your identifier is <\/span><b>B7377B62<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The agent can help you retrieve its identifier.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>How can I top up, and what are the limits?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can top up through an authorised agent, the Tap&amp;Go app or MTN Mobile Money by dialling <\/span><b>*532#<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and following the prompts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The minimum top-up amount is <\/span><b>RWF 100<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and the maximum is <\/span><b>RWF 50,000<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Check your card identifier and the amount before confirming payment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>When should I top up before travelling?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For USSD top-ups, we recommend allowing <\/span><b>15 to 30 minutes before your journey<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to help avoid delays.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Keep your payment confirmation. If money has been deducted but the top-up has not appeared, contact customer support with your card identifier and transaction details.
